Interesting. I’m certainly glad the bill didn’t pass, and seeing those “things the media didn’t say” just makes me feel even better.
Maybe I wanted to hear it so badly that my ears betrayed my mind in order to...

Politics. Again.
It’s a circus sideshow, folks. I’m unsure whether to laugh or feel sympathy for those that take it all seriously. This is the most blatantly cliche and PR-designed electoral season I think we’ve ever experienced. At least in US history, if not world history.
Given my two options for presidential candidates, I couldn’t care less. It’s like a doctor telling me...

I just went to the new Trader Joe’s in my neighborhood and it is AWESOME! It sucks for Key Food but I don’t think I’ll be going there anymore. The stuff at Trader Joe’s looks so fresh and so good, and the prices seem pretty darn reasonable. Not to mention how spacious it is. You can actually cruise around comfortably with a shopping cart and not feel claustrophobic. It was mad...
Wow. A friend of my girlfriend just moved into the city. He was beaten and robbed in Grammercy Park. Scary.
I’m so blessed to live in the Village. It’s not 100% devoid of crime, but never have I ever felt unsafe here.
Prayers for her friend and his family as he recovers.

Because it’ll likely go crazy on the Tumblr Dashboard without anyone paying attention, 85 Billion (that’s 85,000,000,000) divided by 200 Million (that’s 200,000,000) is NOT 425,000. It’s 425. The “we deserve it dividend” is $425. Don’t think I’m paying off my mortgage with that.
Do some correct math next time. I’m actually asking for reblogs on this. <shudder>
My wish.
My wish is that we could move all the NYU students out of this great city and move all my favorite people in.

This is scary stuff. I see on a daily basis how frightening the American Dollar is, and with large financiers crashing and merging at record levels, this plan has a bleak horizon for our economy.
Well, at least for the economics for anyone who’s not rich, that is.
Do you know the difference between California and the Titanic? At least when...

Re: The propagated rolling blackouts of California
I’m watching “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room” again. I totally love this documentary (and story). It’s amazing. I think I’m going to pick up the book and read it as well. Even though this is all way old news, I’m still fascinated by it.

If this were to happen (which I doubt), it might actually wash the taste of The Happening out of my mouth. Maybe.
Same here.

Really? I thought the root cause of all this was greedy f**king Americans buying houses they can’t afford. I guess we just have to get the house prices back up so that people can buy more houses they can’t afford. MAKES SENSE. (via dalasverdugo)

Sheer Brilliance.
That’s how I would describe what I expect from Charlie Kaufman’s forthcoming film, “Synecdoche, New York,” which he wrote and directed. The film stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman and as expected, traverses the life of the protagonist and unique alternate realities relating to him.
This man’s mind amazes me.
The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.

Need help deciding who to vote for?
ABC News has a neat interactive quiz, designed to help you better understand where you actually stand on election issues. They present you with two quotes on a given topic, and you decide which you agree with more. At the end of the quiz, you can see who said what, and who (Obama or McCain) you actually agree with the most.
Check out the Match-o-Matic here.

Random thought
I saw a bunch of hipster kids bouncing on a mattress the other day along 7th Ave and I found myself wishing there might be a stray land mine stashed away in there. Innocent children across the world loss their lives and limbs daily to this type of random calamity, yet these hipster kids go unscathed.
I cry life foul.
