“Basically, I have every disc in the collection, and I am making my way through them all. It’s rare that I watch one I don’t like.”

Not a permanent solution, but maybe enough to get us through another year. Glad to hear that it’s at least enough of a concern for the state that actions, though temporal, are being taken.

“Splinter is an independent flick that has been taking the devoted fans of the horror community by storm — and rightfully so: it’s a wonderful and suspenseful ride that is guaranteed to win over even the most jaded scare-seeker.” - BlogCritics.org

The guy says “Drumline and Mr. 3000, [are] some of the best American films in years” and “Don’t make a movie until you’re 40”.
Based on this little interview being all I know about this critic, I think it’s safe to say that I pretty much 100% disagree with him.
Sick days are a little more bearable when you live right by the library. Got a book and some DVDs to get me through this funk.

Riding the NYC subway when you’re sick just makes you feel even more sick. It’s icky!!
“Visionary director” is the new “tour de force” (see any Indie film review) for describing a film director whose calling card is visual style, even over substance and performance (see also: Zac Snyder). And much like “tour de force,” I can tell it’s going to be (over)used a ton this year.

Andrei Tarkovsky's "Stalker"
This is Film School 101 stuff. Ripe with stark imagery, allegory and surreal landscapes, this is Cinema as Art. What you see is not what you get. I enjoy films when the story is beyond the surface and this one is layers beneath. Tarkovsky, who brought us “Solaris,” really nails the experience with this one.
The pacing is tense and often uneasy. And the camera work is...
Apparently the latest Julia Roberts film is much more than what it appears to be at the surface. “Duplicity” has been receiving some nice reviews. Variety even says this: “’Duplicity’ is a brainy, non-violent “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” the film “Intolerable Cruelty” wanted to be.”
Wow. I definitely didn’t expect that. Of course,...
